Did anyone see the video on the X-Dome? Dan did that Hubba hubba dirty😂
Some of my initial thoughts:
This tent could cause a lot of great competition in the market, especially when the 2 person version comes out early next year. Companies like Msr, Nemo and big Agnus could potentially lose sales. This tent just makes more sense to get, comparing it to other tents, sets up fly first, made from Silpoly, spacious, very rigid structure, cheaper and close in weight.
The tent is positioned in a unique place in the market, it seems to be marketed as a 3+ season tent. But the lack of a solid inner is going to deter some people from buying it this winter. It’s only made out of a 15D silpoly so I don’t believe it’ll be competing with hilleberg tents. I’m also not sure how I feel about the trekking poles added for additional support, he’s saying it’s not necessary though. To clarify, referring to the philosophy of the use of trekking poles. This tent appears we made for someone that doesn’t want to use/bring trekking poles.
Go check out the video if you haven’t seen it already, I’d love to get my hands on one!

Has anyone seen this happen to an xlite before? I’ve seen photos of an uberlite doing this. Luckily it happened when I was just filming a video and not out on trail!

Thanks for the vid! Leave your doors unzipped at night to get rid of condensation. That manages it on my xmid1 and xmid 2. This style of tent gets more condensation because the fly pitches close to the ground. A free standing tent like a copper spur has higher bathtub so the fly pitches higher with a lot less condensation (my experience with spark2)

Just got the Kakwa and can’t wait to use it. Been using the mid-2 solid for a while now. Love that tent, and it doesn’t condensate. Still sleeping on a tensor with the Nemo Disco bag. Just can’t seem to make the jump to quilts. The Disco is the best bag for side sleeping that I’ve ever found

i have also run into the issue of my footbox getting soaked because it sits against a tent wall with condensation - I bring a basic lightweight garbage bag and put it around the footbox now. Helps a ton.

I switched from DarnTough to Injinji and it’s amazing. I’m inclined to think it might also been the Merino aggravating my feet
