I literally get emotional when Gohan’s anger theme is playing AS he’s losing. It’s like you can feel him being frustrated that he’s losing and is to his his knowledge the only hope left to beating buu, upset that buu absorbed and killed his loved ones, fearful, helpless yet brave at the same time.

Hearing Gohan get whooped like that is like hearing your sibling get whooped by your mom/dad in the other room. Got me shaking like I’ll be next

I always preferred buu's original voice. What they did with it in the remastered version was just God awful. I don't know what they were thinking. They should've just stuck with his original voice. Ain't gonna give Buu a better voice than that. Thank you for posting this. Hopefully there'll be more posts of Buu with his original voice in the future.

That scene in the hole is terrifying. Gohan was helpless, and didn't even have the strength to run away. Buu wasn't even treating it like a fight, he wasn't even taking it seriously anymore. Because this was no longer a fight, this was an abuser and his victim. And you don't hear any screaming, no grunts of pain, just the earth shattering "smacks", delivered slowly, consistently, and firmly, as if Gohan had lost all hope, and simply submitted to the abuse.

Call it conjecture but I felt this fight damaged gohan in a way. It probably convinced him that he wasn’t a fighter leading to him completely retiring until RoF convinced him to return. It wouldn’t be until the Universal Survival Arc that gohan completely came to terms with what happened here.
