AskMen India Ice baths (or cold therapy) are easier to take when already submerged in the cold water (ease into the water) and by slowly adding in the ice. Ideally, two to three commercial bags of ice will be added. It will also help to wear socks and shorts to keep your core temperature up while allowing the icy water to work its magic. Do your best to stay in the bath for 15 to 20 minutes, but no longer to avoid adverse effects Be sure to check the temperature and keep in mind that water turns to ice at 0 degrees Celsius/ 32 degrees Fahrenheit. The water in an ice bath should ideally be around 50 to 59 degrees Fahrenheit If you use a 3:1 water/ice ratio it should take roughly 10 minutes to reach the right temperature and once it does, itโ€™s time to ease into the bath to let the healing process start Once time is up, ease out of the ice bath and dethaw in a warm shower to reduce the numbness Feel the positive effects in future workouts! The knees, too, become stronger and more stable as a result. Side clamshell Side clamshell is another exercise that opens up your pelvic muscles. It involves keeping your legs in a diamond position while lying down on your side. Apart from increasing the range of motion of your hip joints, this also tones your adductors, which are commonly called the inner thighs. These are usually overlooked during lower body workouts. Knee folds Knee folds are an amazing lower body stretch. They open up your pelvic muscles like nothing else. They involve touching your knees to the floor while lying down on your back. This also tones your inner thigh muscles, which are often overlooked during leg workouts. Moreover, the gluteal muscles are tightened, giving you a body worth flaunting. Split table tops Split table tops raise the benefits of knee folds a notch. Apart from opening up your inner thighs, increasing your hip mobility and tightening your glutes, they also strengthen your lower body. This is because the exercise not only involves stretching your knees to the side, but also lifting them off the floor and staying in that position for some time.
