Period Nirvana Hi everyone! I always forget to post to YouTube but since so many of you have commented worried about my well being I wanted to assure you I am fine! My ego? Not so much. I fell while my son gave me a piggy back ride directly onto my face and my glasses deeply cut my face. That was about 2 weeks ago and I still have some bruising but it will be gone before my trip to London next week. I'm wearing sunglasses around more than usual just because explaining my black eye to strangers is not my fav thing. While in London I will finally get to visit the Vagina Museum, and I happen to be in town at the same time a sexual wellness creators meetup is scheduled so the timing is perfect.  As always, I keep my shorts uploaded frequently so you'll continue to see content there. And just for fun, here is my cat who came to work with me at our Period Nirvana Asheville store location last week. If you haven't been to our store and you have a trip planned to the NC mountains try to fit us in. It's worth a trip!  Thanks for you concern and good thoughts! I'm almost black eye free :) (2 weeks ago)

Period Nirvana slides in from behind the rock I've been under... Hi! Did you know I opened a period store and museum in April? Probably not, because I have been so busy running things that I haven't done a great job sharing with the YouTube community outside of a few Shorts. Period Nirvana opened at 315 Haywood Rd Ste 113 Asheville NC. This period store is a combination of my love for education and belief that shopping for period care items should be a more personal and dignified experience. We have a small but mighty team here, if you stop by for a visit we'd love to help you find period nirvana! And if you don't need period products don't fret - Period Nirvana is a full destination. Like today's new video upload showcases, we have a fun museum exhibit featuring 100 Years of Menstrual Technology. Items on display are from my personal collection that has been amassed over many years. Now available for the public's view. We also sell other non-period items in the store - you might be surprised by what you'll find! I hope to make a longer video about the year long journey of idea to a real physical store. But for now, enjoy today's new video featuring the museum tour. Thanks for being part of the community here - Kim (10 months ago)

Period Nirvana A new video is on the way… a demo and review of the Pixie Disc Applicator. Why do I only share 1 YouTube video every quarter? I start with 50 minutes of raw footage where I talk at the camera in circles. But first I have to hype myself up into getting in front of the camera because that means also doing my makeup and cleaning my office. Then, I spend 2 weeks editing myself into making sense. Next, I go through a full watch and cut the video 4-5x to trim more and more of my own unnecessary blathering out. I'm down to 26 minutes from the original 50.... I am the only editor who knows what I am trying to say so hiring an editor won't work. I wish I had it in me to upload more frequently 😮‍💨 Excited to share this one though, you’ll be seeing lots of footage of multiple disc brands in action. I also got lubricant IN MY EYE during filming. Occupational hazard. (1 year ago)

While I respect people's choices and decisions, I find it kind of ridiculous that so many women are so uncomfortable or grossed out by their own bodies and bodily processes. Honestly, I think the body is an amazing thing - and those bodily processes are evidence of that. Obviously some of these processes can be more uncomfortable or messy than others, but seriously, there are grosser things out there than this! As a woman - I don't view my period as a curse (sometimes it's inconvenient of course) but it's just something that I (And most women) have to deal with. Some have a lot more uncomfortability than others (endometriosis, heavier flows, cramps, etc). But I don't understand the amount of 'hate' on a product that offers a more cost- efficient and less wasteful option for women of child-bearing ages. To each their own, of course. But to see people refuting this only because it's 'gross' or 'messy' is a bit childish, in my opinion. Getting to know ones body, and understanding it, and not finding it gross or awkward, is a beautiful and empowering thing - and makes life a lot easier (in my opinion ) such as periods, sex, pregnancy and childbirth, medical exams, body image etc. These are all improved when you're not embarrassed or unfamiliar with your own body.

it's like relearning all over again. I really wish they taught me this option in high school.one I would of used it then and two I would of saved so much money. I'm nervous though but I will try it.

I cannot thank you enough for the "bearing down" tip. It makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE between a painful turning uterus inside out experience and a smooth removal ! Thanks !

I think adding the liquid made a very good visual for those who might be nervous about using it. Another tip for putting it in, I find if I wiggle the cup around a bit by the stem after insertion, I can actually feel it suction, so I know it's in there well. Haven't had any leaks yet!

To people worried about cleaning in public- I almost NEVER have to tend to it in public. And if so, I carry the wipes in my purse, and they also have a small bottle of cleaner you can use in the privacy of your stall, etc. I prefer the wipes, and have NEVER had to use them in a public restroom.

I had been thinking about getting a cup for months. Then about a month ago I got an apartment with 2 guys, so I figured it would probably make our living together easier, if I could spare them at least part of the period nightmare. So I got myself a MeLuna cup (mostly cuz it's the cheapest one I could find). I'm still not the best when it comes to the inserting, but honestly it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. Sports are SO much easier this way (especially for a swimmer like me), I no longer get rashes and there are no awkward tampon episodes in our apartment!
