It sounds like she didn’t see you as journalists, but rather podcasters that would change your tone if she called you and buttered you up a little. When you revealed you signed with the Athletic, the realization that this wasn’t going to go her way set in.

Good on both Charlotte and Madeline for not succumbing to the appeal of becoming just another access "journalism" podcast interviewing celebrities about their favorite items to order at In-N-Out Burger. And good on both of them for not falling for Jordon's damsel-in-distress, it's-us-gals-against-the-world games she attempted to fool them with so they would no longer treat her as the subject of a serious journalistic investigation, rather they would just treat her like any other friendly acquaintance.
